Hello and welcome!

I am currently on the job market, with my job market paper Out of the Dark into the Light? Border Urban Municipalities and Eastern EU Enlargements . I completed my PhD at the Université de Lille in the Lille Economics and Management (LEM, CNRS UMR 9221), under the supervision of Jan Fidrmuc and Nicolas Debarsy. My thesis is about the regional aspects of European economic integration, with a focus on EU Structural and Investment Funds and EU border regions.

Until June 2026, I am a research associate at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) at Politecnico di Milano, where I work on a project about the spatial and territorial effects of e-commerce with Ilaria Mariotti , Federica Rossi , Tommaso Cigognetti , and Dimitris Manoukas.

Before starting my PhD, I was a policy analyst at the Institute for Strategy and Analysis at the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. Among other things, I was part of the team working on the Reports on Productivity and Competitiveness of the Slovak Republic for the years 2019 and 2020.

My research interests comprise regional and urban economics, policy evaluation, causal inference, political economy, digital economy, cliometrics and applied econometrics.
